MAYOR OF CASTLE POINT'S AFTERNOON TEA - OCTOBER 2026

We are honoured to have been selected by Kate Knott, the Mayor of Castle Point, as one of her two chosen charities for 2026. In October, we joined Kate, local residents and current and former civic dignitaries for a wonderful afternoon tea at Boyce Hill Golf Club in Benfleet.

As well as having the opportunity to share our foundation's story through a speech, we were delighted to meet the fantastic team behind Send the Right Message, the Mayor's other chosen charity for the year.

It was a lovely afternoon filled with tea, cakes, great company and, most importantly, fundraising, with an incredible £452 raised for the For Isla Foundation.

A huge thank you to Kate and everyone involved for their kindness and support.

A bit later in the year but the sun still shone thanks to our little girl and we had another brilliant golf day. A big thank you to Isla's great uncle Andy and all the staff at Langdon Hills Golf Club for hosting another memorable day. We raised £6,661.61 with £2,295.53 going to the charity and can't thank everyone who came enough for their support year on year - it means the world to us and all the children at GOSH this will help.

A special mention and thanks to the Mayor of Castle Point who also joined us for the afternoon to promote the charity, meet some of the team, and even helped out during the prize giving ceremony.

Isla’s auntie Elle, together with her wonderful colleagues at Vinson & Elkins, organised two fantastic fundraising efforts in support of The For Isla Foundation.

On Tuesday 8th September, the anniversary of Isla’s passing, the team came together to hold a bake sale, selling an amazing selection of homemade treats to raise funds in Isla’s memory.

Alongside this, Elle’s colleague Nick Scorey took on the London to Brighton Bike Ride, raising further funds for the charity.

Together, their incredible efforts raised an amazing £1,685. We are so grateful to Elle, Nick and everyone at V&E who baked, cycled, donated and supported the events. 

For the third year running Isla's cousin Florence and her friends made and sold bracelets, this time at the Hockley Easter Trail. They raised an incredible £185.50 which will be enough to provide a Ray of sunshine gift to a baby or young child being treated at GOSH. 

A memorable weekend for us all with Isla's Uncle Dan and Carl's cousin's partner Becky who ran for our charity at the Barcelona marathon. It was an incredible, emotional and beautiful day for us all as family members from both sides came to watch. They both did brilliant - completing their first ever marathons and raising £2,035.56 and £2768.61 each for the foundation. Special mention to Carl's cousin Frankie who signed up and trained right up to the event, but sadly suffered an injury meaning he had to pull out. You'll just have to sign up for next year Frankie!

Starting on Friday 13th March, Isla's Auntie Sarah and her friends from The Mortgage Mum (with help from some of their children!) walked 1.3million steps over 13 days - completing their goal of raising £1.3k for the charity! The number 13 was deliberately chosen as a theme, to represent the number of months Isla was with us. An incredible achievement and we can't thank everyone who got involved enough.
