Isla's Ray of Sunshine

The For Isla Foundation is committed to supporting the Inherited Cardio at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, but we also want to help children and their families directly.

Under Isla's Ray of Sunshine scheme, we are proud to grant Sunshine Gifts to children aged 0-6 (and their immediate families) who suffer from Ultra Rare Paediatric Cardiomyopathies and who are undergoing treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Isla was our sunshine and even through some of the darkest days after losing her, the smallest, kindest gestures shone a little light.

We know that endless hospital appointments, worries and life restrictions can dim a child's/families light so we hope to provide a little ray of sunshine and put a smile on their faces by fulfilling a special wish.

Please note that each Ray of Sunshine is a one-time only offer and available only to children diagnosed an Ultra Rare Paediatric Cardiomyopathy and their immediate family members/guardians.

For more information on our gift granting criteria or to refer a child/family to receive a Ray of Sunshine, please click on the button below.

Who can receive a Ray of Sunshine?

Babies and young children, aged 0-6, who are being treated for an ultra-rare cardiomyopathy disease at Great Ormond Street. In some circumstances, family members/guardians of the child can also benefit from the same wish (for example a day out for all the family). Applicants must be UK residents and have been resident in the UK for the past 12 months.

How does our application process work?

First, we ask that you complete the below form to refer a child. Upon receiving the referral we will contact the child’s parent/guardian directly to discuss how we can grant a Sunshine Gift.

Please note Sunshine Gifts are granted on a one-time only basis and acceptance is at the charity's discretion.

We would require information on the child’s medical condition and family life. Please note that all information given is treated with the strictest confidence.
